Sundance: Counting the cynics
Christopher Kelly takes a breather from his disappointment with Sundance to express his disappointment with partygoing: "Even when the movies aren't delivering at Sundance, you can at least count on the parties for drinks and Hollywood insincerity. At the Sunday night soiree for The Jacket—a supernatural thriller starring Adrien Brody, to be released by Warner Independents [sic] in the spring—you couldn't find a single person to say a nice thing about the movie. (Or, for that matter, find anyone who'd bothered to see the movie.) But with the cocktails flowing and the star-gawking in high gear (Brody, Keira Knightley, Steven Soderbergh, producer Gary Ross and John C. Reilly all floated through the room at various points), you couldn't find anyone complaining, either."
