TOM GREEN TO HOST
FIFTH ANNUAL GOLDEN TRAILER AWARDS

Unconventional Show Honors Movie Previews in 17 Categories

LOS ANGELES May 12, 2004 – Comedic actor Tom Green has been tapped to host The Fifth Annual Golden Trailer Awards Show, honoring film trailers for their artistic value. Much like the two-minute trailers it celebrates, the Golden Trailer Awards is a high octane rocket ride of laughs, high drama, loud music and energy. This year, the annual tribute to movie previews will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at the Orpheum Theater in Los Angeles.

“I couldn't pass up the opportunity to host a show honoring excellence among my peers,” says Tom Green. “Unfortunately the aluminum siding people don't have an awards show... so this will have to suffice. (No offense to the aluminum siding people, wherever they may be.)”

"Tom is hysterical and his unique personality and off-the-wall humor to the masses make him perfect for our audience," said Evelyn Brady, co-founder of the Golden Trailer Awards.

Tom Green is best known for his shows on MTV, “The Tom Green Show” and “The New Tom Green Show.” Green has also starred in such hit comedies as “Superstar,” “Freddie Got Fingered,” “Road Trip” and “Charlie’s Angels.” Raised in Ottawa, Green began to hone his comic skills as a teenager, pulling gags for the amusement of his friends. Along with doing stand-up while in college, Green released a rap album and created a hit radio show at the University of Ottawa.

This year’s nominees include Pirates of the Caribbean for Best Action, Finding Nemo for Best Animation/Family, Starsky & Hutch for Best Comedy, My Flesh and Blood for Best Documentary, The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King for Best Drama, Osama for Best Foreign, Gothika for Best Horror/Thriller, Lost in Translation for Best Independent, Passion of the Christ for Best Music, Butterfly Effect for The Golden Fleece Award, Kill Bill Vol. 2 for Most Original and The Real Cancun for Trashiest. Multiple nominees include Kill Bill Vol. 2; I, Robot
and The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

Nominees were selected by a panel of industry judges that includes: Benicio Del Toro (Traffic, Snatch, and the Hunted), Neil Jordan (Director The Crying Game, Butcher Boy), Bob Osher (Co-Producer Miramax), Drew Giordano (Sr. VP Warner Bros. Pictures), Glenn Close (Stepford Wives, Le Divorce), Fisher Stevens (Co-President GreenStreet Films), Rob Minkoff (Director The Lion King, Stuart Little), Steve Carr (Director Daddy Day Care, Dr. Dolittle), Anne Chaisson (producer Rodger Dodger, PS), Paul Cohen (President Manhattan Pictures), Mary Schmidt Campbell (Dean of NYU, Tisch school of the Arts), Pablo Ferro (Titlest, Artist Dr. Strangelove), Karen Schmeer (Editor Fog of War), John Ottman (Editor, Composer, Usual Suspects) and Greg Dean Schmitz (Film Critic Yahoo Movies).

Launched by filmmakers Evelyn and Monica Brady, the Golden Trailer Awards is the film industry’s awards show for feature film trailers: 90 minutes of pure, adrenaline-packed fun and non-stop entertainment. "It's the movie awards show guaranteed against attention deficit disorder," says Monica Brady. "Not only is it perfectly paced for our society, it celebrates the people who condense 120 minutes of movie into a two-minute minor opus."

Tickets for the show and pre-party are $150 each. Call 212-696-9770 to order by credit card or email tickets@goldentrailer.com. Guests must be 21 & over (doors open at 6:00PM). For more information log on to www.goldentrailer.com
