BUMBLE WARD & ASSOCIATES NAMES BEBE LERNER VICE PRESIDENT AND EXPANDS CORPORATE
AND FILM DIVISIONS

ROCHELLE WINTERS AND JAMES LEWIS JOIN THE BWA TEAM

Beverly Hills, CA - August 06, 2003-Bumble Ward & Associates (BWA) has fortified its public relations capabilities by promoting veteran entertainment publicist BeBe Lerner to vice president; hiring James Lewis as a publicist; and bringing aboard long-time public relations and marketing executive Rochelle Winters to spearhead the company's corporate division, it was announced today by company President Bumble Ward.

Lerner has wide-ranging experience creating public relations campaigns for award-winning directors, screenwriters, motion pictures, television programming and entertainment companies. Winters, owner of now-shuttered public relations firm Smoke & Mirrors, has extensive background orchestrating public relations and marketing efforts for public and privately-held entertainment, entertainment technology, advertising and commercial production companies. Film publicist James Lewis brings with him extensive experience in business and public relations for A-list independent films.

"It is not an exaggeration to say that few publicists match BeBe's knowledge of the entertainment industry and the press that covers it," said Ward, "and we are glad to formally recognize how invaluable her effort has been to our company."

Ward continued, "Our clients will truly benefit from both Rochelle's and James' addition to BWA. Rochelle brings a long range, strategic approach to public relations as well as artistic, technical and marketing expertise and James a thorough understanding of the role public relations plays in promoting independent film. Together, they enhance the quality and range of services we provide."

Lerner has been with the company since 1999 and has recently overseen public relations outreach for high profile clients such as X-MEN 2 director Bryan Singer, DOWN WITH LOVE director Peyton Reed, INSOMNIA director Christopher Nolan, novelist/writer/creator John Ridley, the Academy Award-nominated film SPELLBOUND and actor Vincent D'Onofrio. She is also working alongside Winters to orchestrate ongoing public relations efforts for television company Fremantle Media North America ("American Idol" and "The Price is Right") and film producers Radar Pictures (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE LAST SAMURAI).

She began her career at ICM where, as a junior packaging agent, she worked with leading producers, writers and publishing houses to bring television and feature film projects to fruition. In 1997, Lerner moved into public relations as an account executive with Paul Pflug at Bragman Nyman Cafarelli, where she was instrumental in launching Artisan Entertainment, Lions Gate Corporate Entertainment and variety.com.

Winters has been freelancing at BWA, working on public relations efforts for the Entertainment Technology Center at USC and Sony Pictures Imageworks, among others. She founded Smoke & Mirrors in 1993, a successful public relations firm whose clients included Cannes Lion-winning consumer advertising agency Katsin/Loeb Advertising, Inc; global production and production services company Milk & Honey Films/Prague Studios; visual effects shop Gray Matter FX; award-winning feature film composer John Powell; and the commercial production division of A Band Apart Films. Before forming Smoke & Mirrors, Winters was director of public relations and marketing for Harmony Holding's five commercial and music production divisions.

Winters has overseen the development of Andy Award-winning identity system and business-to-business advertising campaigns; written for entertainment publications; and worked on set in the camera department.

Formerly of Fox Searchlight Pictures and mPRm Public Relations, Lewis began his career at the Sundance Film Festival press office in 1996. Since then, he has been instrumental in the acquisition of films seeking distribution and contributed to the success of such films as GHOST WORLD, IN THE BEDROOM and BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM. In addition to film release campaigns, his efforts on documentaries such as THE COCKETTES, SCRATCH, TREMBLING BEFORE G-D and the Academy Award-nominated PROMISES have helped create more opportunity for documentaries to find theatrical distribution. Lewis also served as unit publicist on several feature film productions and supported publicity efforts on feature film and documentary award campaigns.
