To
all my friends,
After
a great deal of thought, I have decided to close down the Magic Lantern
office on 57th Street at the end of April.
This
was not a decision made lightly, because I love being a publicist and
am proud of what we have accomplished over the last seven years. But
I have reached the point in my life where I am enthusiastic about moving
in some new directions.
Magic
Lantern, Inc. will continue as a company, but beginning May 1st,
it will no longer be involved in release publicity for feature films.
I will continue working as a publicity consultant for my personal clients,
among
other activities.
At
this time, I would like to thank everyone who worked at the firm and
who made such vital contributions to making the publicity wheels turn,
notably Hiromi Kawanishi, Sara Finmann, Jessica Uzzan, Amy Gordon
and Harris Dew.
I would
never have had the opportunity to have the company if it wasn't for
the constant support of Tom Bernard, Michael Barker and Marcie
Bloom of Sony Pictures Classics.
I'd
also like to thank everyone who ever hired us, in particular the
Independent Film Channel, Errol Morris, and Ally Sheedy.
